My Mom's 50th Birthday Dinner Party

With over 6 months of planning and almost a year passed, I think we should talk about the dinner party that I planned and hosted for my mom's 50th Birthday.

Please let it first be known that birthdays are my favorite holiday, shortly followed by Christmas. So planning something extravagant for this milestone was a must!

We held the party at one of my favorite studio spaces. When you walked in, one of the first things you saw, was the bar on the right. Mummy's favorite drink is a Disaronno on the rocks, so that was a definite and I created "The Fab 50" as her custom drink. Which was simply Vodka, Sprite and lime, and there was also Heineken for the lighter drinkers.

Hiring a DJ was a last minute decision because the initial plan was to just play music from my iPod, but THANKFULLY I went the pro route because he kept the right flow the entire night.

We rented the tables, chairs, dinnerware, glasses, silverware, napkins and linens  from Diamonette Party Rental, bought all the serving bowls and spoons from party city and the food was made by yours truly with the assistance of Fred and my best friend.

I wanted everyone to sit Family Style! I think it's the perfect way to have a bunch of conversations going at once, no one feels left out of anything, just warmth, and love and FAMILY!

To say we ALL had fun, would be an understatement! Mummy laughed, cried, and screamed at everyone who didn't tell her about the SURPRISE party from before.

  1. Aww! God bless her! Even my mom turned 50 this week, we celebrated her birthday in one of the Los Angeles event venues. It looks like you all had a great time. It’s always fun with family. I love get togethers like this. It was lovely looking at this blog.
